| Description This is a true winter adventure in the backcountry of Sequoia National Park for those guys in top physical condition. Previous snowshoeing or cross-country skiing experience highly recommended. The 6 mile hike climbs steeply through thick pine forests, open bowls and stunning Sierra Nevada scenery. Our destination is two nights at a remote cabin, used in the summer by park rangers, which sits in the Pear Lake Basin at 9,200 ft. The cabin has a wood-pellet stove, electricity, toilet, and bunks & mattresses. Bring your snowboard or skis to take advantage of the powder!
